Denny’s was started in Lakewood, California in 1953 by Richard Jezak and Harold Butler. The business grew quickly and by 1959 there were around 20 restaurants in the chain. Everyone loved the food at Denny’s so they became very successful. They are still very popular to this day, operating across the whole of America, Mexico and Canada. They have 1600 restaurants, with a further 578 in Japan.
